Ron Hanaver, Director

Mr. Hanaver received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wright State University, Ohio. He later completed a graduate program from Western Michigan University in managing publicly funded substance use disorder treatment organizations. Mr. Hanaver has been in the substance abuse treatment field since 1987, is a licensed substance abuse treatment counselor (LADAC), nationally certified addictions counselor (NCAC), and a Qualified Clinical Supervisor (QCS) by the State of Tennessee. He has also passed the International Reciprocity Consortium criteria for substance abuse treatment counselors. Experience includes heading a dual diagnosis Team at Lakeshore Mental Health Institute, Inpatient Primary Counselor at Detoxification Rehabilitation Institute, and outpatient counselor at Meridian Professional Psychological Consultants, public and private agencies for adolescent, and family substance abuse counseling. Mr. Hanaver began his current position as Recovery Court and Veterans Treatment Court Director when the Knox County Drug Court began planning for operation 1997. He sat on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Association of Drug Court Professionals (TADCP) 2003 to 2014, was the 2009 TADCP President, and served on the Tennessee Drug Court Advisory Committee.

Gloria Smith, Case Manager

Gloria Smith has been with the Knox County Recovery Court since 2007. She first started with the Program as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor and has held the Case Manager position since 2017.  Ms. Smith  is working on her license as an Alcohol & Drug Counselor in the State of Tennessee.  Before coming to the Knox County Recovery Court, Gloria worked for Cornerstone of Recovery, and Agape Inc.

Lauren Crick, Case Manager

Lauren Crick received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Liberty University in Virginia. Ms. Crick has held the case manager position with Knox Recovery Court since 2022. Before coming to Knox Recovery Court, Ms. Crick worked for the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in varying capacities.

Deborah Tackett, CPRS

Deborah has served as Peer Support Specialist with KRC/KCVTC since 2021. Prior to joining the team, she received as a CPRS with Peninsula, Where she developed and facilitated weekly groups for inmates with co-occurring disorders. She is certified to facilitate both WRAP and Bridges curricula. She held a license as an alcohol and substance abuse counselor in her home state of New York and has worked in the field in various capacities for over 35 years, mostly with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
