The mission of the Knox Recovery Court will be to promote public safety and health by providing aggressive treatment and supervision to citizens with legal and substance abuse problems through partnerships between local government, law enforcement, the legal community and other community agencies in a non-adversarial process.

The Knox Drug Court, its various project and programs, is supported in part by Grant # 33901-52913 from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Services. The contents of these WebPages are solely the responsibility of the Knox County Drug Court and do not necessarily represent the official views of TDMHSATS.

The idea behind referring to people who receive services in drug court as “participants” is this: unlike patients who are admitted into a hospital and do not play an active role in their surgery, people with chemical dependence choose to either continue using alcohol and drugs OR choose to participate in their recovery from addiction. They actively participate in the treatment and recovery of their disease.
